Bloomsburg Falls to Lock Haven in Women's Basketball

LOCK HAVEN--The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team placed four players in double figures, but it wasn't enough as the Huskies lost to Lock Haven, 72-60, on Wednesday night.

After Bloomsburg's Colleen Kegerreis (Schuylkill Haven/Schuylkill Haven) scored the game's first bucket, the Huskies saw the Lady Eagles come back and take a lead of 11 points, 22-11, with 8:54 to play in the half. The Huskies, though, closed out the first half by closing to within three points when Laura Lyons (Hatfield/Pennridge) connected on a three-pointer with a minute left to play.

In the second half, after a bucket by Lock Haven's Shameka Lee made it 43-34, Bloomsburg got a three-pointer from Nicole Boone (Mountaintop/Crestwood) and a pair of free throws from Bianca Lee (Temple Hills, MD/Archbishop Carroll) to close back to within four points, 43-39.

Then, later in the half with the Huskies trailing 54-47, the Lady Eagles put together 10-0 over a three-minute stretch to break the game open and take a 17-point lead with 7:38 to play. The Huskies did not get closer than 12 points the rest of the way.

Leading the Huskies (4-6) in scoring were Boone, Lee, and Kegerreis with 12 points each, while Gabe Miskinis (Lewistown/Lewistown) added 11 points. Lock Haven (5-6) got 15 points from Elizabeth Gabrielle, while Shameka Lee added 14 points.

Bloomsburg is idle till Dec. 30 when it plays at Southern Connecticut.
